چکیده

Background A reimbursement policy for angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors based only on controlling expenditure and not adequate for the patient access to treatment could not return expected results for longterm improvement of patients’ health. The study addresses the need for optimization of the reimbursement policy of the National Health Insurance Fund in Bulgaria (NHIF) which is based on payment of a certain percentage of the reference price within an INN group of drugs, i.e. 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% and covers the Bulgarian reimbursement market of ACE inhibitors, related to pharmaceutical expenditure and doctors and patients behaviour.

Inhibitory Effects of Germinal Angiotensin Converting Enzyme by Medicinal Plants Used in Iranian Traditional Medicine as Antihypertensive

Background & Aim: Medicinal plants are used in traditional medicine for the treatment of different diseases such as hypertension. Since inhibition of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is one of the involved mechanisms in control of hypertension, in this study the inhibitory effect of 20 medicinal plants on ACE was investigated. Methods: The medicinal plants were collected, powdered, extracted...

Potential angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors from Iranian traditional plants described by Avicenna’s Canon of Medicine

Objective: Hypertension is an important cause of cardiovascular disorders. The angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) plays an important role in hypertension; therefore, inhibition of ACE in treatment of chronically elevated blood pressure is an important therapeutic approach. In the current review, we have p...

استخراج و بهینه‌سازی تخلیص چند مرحله‌ای آنزیم تبدیل کننده آنژیوتانسین I(ACE) از ریه خرگوش

Angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)(EC: 3.4.15.1) is a peptidyl dipeptide hydrolase that removes the carboxyl terminal (His-Leu) from angiotensin I to produce the octapeptide angiotensin II. Due to the importance of ACE and its active site-directed inhibitors in the pathogenesis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension and heart failure, ACE purification and ass...

Inhibition of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Reduces Cerebral Infarction Size in Experimental-Induced Focal Cerebral Ischemia in the Rat

Background: The role of Renin Angiotensin System (RAS) in ischemic/reperfusion (I/R) injuries is not fully elucidated. Furthermore, it is not clear whether inhibition of RAS by Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors has beneficial effects in terms of protecting the brain from I/R injuries. In this study enalapril is used as an ACE inhibitor to evaluate the role of RAS in I/R injuries in...

Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Gene Polymorphism in Iranian Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

Background: Angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) is a Zinc metalloproteinase, converts Ang-I to Ang- II, a pro-inflammatory agent which may contribute to pathophysiology of some diseases like type 2 diabetes. Objective: To investigate the relationship between ACE I/D polymorphism and type 2 diabetes in 261 Iranian casecontrol pairs. Methods: 170 patients (85 type 2 diabetics with nephropathy a...
